I’ve been asked to organize radio communications for a portion of the competition. This year the non-robotics portion (displays, notebooks, marketing presentation, T-shirts) will be held at UTD’s Richardson campus. Because things will be spread among 3 buildings, they would like 4 radio operators for Thursday Dec. 7th, 9 AM – 6 PM, and Friday Dec. 8th, 7 AM – Noon.
I need 2 more operators for those two days.
In addition, BEST is looking for general volunteers, as well as a pit boss for the actual robot competition, which will be held at Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco on Friday Dec. 8th, 3 PM – 7 PM, and Saturday Dec. 9th, 7 AM – 5 PM.

It is that time again for the Thanksgiving Meals on Wheels Thursday Nov 23rd.
I am looking for 7 or so volunteers .
Time arrive by 7:30am and should be done I hope by 10 or 10:15 am
Safety vest needed
Comfortable shoes ( will be standing at all locations)
Clothing according to the weather
HT low power on simplex headset , speaker mic or ear piece would really help
The location this year will be at the XO building which is a block West from the VNA building.
It is the street before at Brook River Dr which is just before Elm brook Dr which is the normal site.

I know this is short notice, but the Denton County Amateur Radio Association is asking for our assistance in supporting a bike rally in our general area.
The Tour de Cure, starting at Southfork Ranch, 3700 Hogge Road, Parker, TX 75002.
This ride benefits the American Diabetes Association. In years past, Tour de Cure has been held in Denton County, but the event organizers have moved it to Collin County this year. DCARA has another ride to support on the same day, so the success of this event hinges on participation from other area clubs and radio amateurs.
The ride starts at Southfork Ranch in Parker Texas and heads east towards Josephine. The link below is to the 62 mile route, which is inclusive of all of the shorter routes.
The reporting times have not been finalized yet, but the earliest positions can expect to start around 6:30AM and the latest positions should be finished by early afternoon.
We are primarily looking for stations to assist with rest stops and roving. The signup is below:
They will be using the PARK UHF repeater to support this event.
Its time to begin thinking about the CoCoBEST robotics competition on Saturday, October 21st. P.A.R.K. has provided communications for this event for some time, and we have been asked for our services once again.
This is a fun, indoor event, with light breakfast, snacks, and free lunch as a bonus! Plus, you get to see the ingenuity of 50 middle and high school teams as the robots they’ve created, out of identical sets of components, compete to solve a problem.
We need a few additional volunteers for this event (Some of last year’s crew had so much fun they’ve already volunteered!). The time frame is 7:00am – 5:00pm, though some will be able to leave sooner. If we have enough volunteers, we can split the day with some working the morning, others the afternoon, and both getting lunch.

The PARK meeting will be held on Monday September 18th. The location at the First Methodist Church of Plano. It is located at 3160 East Spring Creek Parkway, Plano,TX. We will be meeting in the large reception area.
The featured topic will be Plano Balloon Fest Training. We will also have a repeater update. The meeting will begin at 7 pm and the VE testing at 6 pm.

Getting a bit of a late start this year, but the event is on! About 10 communications volunteers are needed to support the event. The Collin Classic is now sponsored by and supports the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County. In Collin County since 1968, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. They are located in McKinney, Plano and Frisco. This year the Collin Classic is starting from, Oak Point Park in Plano. Many of you will know this as the balloon launch field. The route will generally follow the old Wild Ride route. The new date will allow us to provide excellent support. In additional to general rest stop and shadow support, we have also been asked to help with SAG if possible. Most positions have a start time of 8:00 am. A link to the event web site is below.
