Winter Field Day is approaching. This year the event iw January 27 – 28. We will be partnering with the Lucas Club and Fire Department. All are invited to attend. As in past years we will be operating from the Lucas Fire Department Training Room.
There will be three stations to operate as much of the 24 hour event as possible. We will have one station dedicated to digital modes, primarily PSK-31, one dedicated station for SSB and one that will be primarily SSB, but will have the ability to switch to CW or RTTY if anyone wishes to operate those modes. We plan to operate on 20/40/80m and we will be using the club call W5AWL, which will give us access to the Extra parts of the bands and allow us to confirm contacts in Logbook of the World.
Setup will start about 10am Saturday morning and the event starts at 1pm. We plan to operate until at least 9pm and possibly later depending on band conditions. We will plan to start up again at 8am Sunday morning and operate until the end of the event at 1pm. Teardown will begin at 1pm. Pizzas will be provided for dinner Saturday evening and everyone is encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert. We will have bottled water, but if you want soda or something, please feel free to bring it.
This will be a fairly informal operation, so there will be no signup for any task, just come out as your schedule permits and have some fun. I hope to see you there!
Thanks,
Tony
